1. Important Disclaimers

  • Aggregator Status: LaPhD is a technology platform that connects users with licensed pharmacies and NABL-accredited diagnostic laboratories. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

  • Emergency Use: Our platform is not intended for medical emergencies. In case of an emergency, please contact your local hospital immediately.

2. Information We Collect

To provide our medical and delivery services, we collect:

  • Personal Identification: Name, phone number, and email address.

  • Health Data (Sensitive Personal Data): Medical prescriptions, lab test requirements, and health profiles for chronic care management (e.g., Diabetes, Hypertension).

  • Location Data: * Foreground Location: To find nearby labs and pharmacies.

    • Background Location: If enabled, we track location to provide real-time updates for "20-minute" medicine deliveries and to route lab technicians for home sample collection.

  • Transaction Data: Details of services booked and payments made (we do not store full credit/debit card numbers; these are handled by encrypted payment gateways).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information strictly for:

  • Fulfilling medicine orders and lab test bookings.

  • Verifying prescriptions with licensed pharmacists as per the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

  • Managing recurring refills for chronic care patients.

  • Enhancing app security and preventing fraudulent transactions.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your data. We share information only with:

  • Licensed Partners: Your name, address, and prescription are shared with the specific pharmacy or lab fulfilling your order.

  • Logistics Partners: Your address and location are shared with delivery personnel.

  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required by Indian law or a court order.

5. Data Security and Retention

  • Encryption: All health-related data (prescriptions/reports) is Encrypted at Rest using AES-256 and Encrypted in Transit via SSL/TLS.

  • Retention: We retain your data only as long as your account is active or as required by medical record-keeping laws in India.

6. Your Rights (DPDPA 2023 Compliance)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

  • Access and Correct: View or update your personal/medical profile.

  • Withdraw Consent: Stop our processing of your data at any time (this may result in an inability to use certain features like home delivery).

  • Right to Erasure: Request the deletion of your account and all associated health records.

7. Data Deletion Request

Users can request data deletion through the Delete Account option in the Profile section of the app, or by emailing at support@laphd.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request."

8. Google Play Store Permissions

For the app to function, we request:

  • Camera: To scan/upload prescriptions.

  • Location: To facilitate hyper-local delivery and sample collection.

  • Storage: To download lab reports to your device.

  • Notifications: To send order updates and delivery alerts
